Okay now that we made it through Summit #1 and Near Death Experience #387, some housekeeping:

What is the status of your sleeping situation and is it going to lead to you throwing your back out if you need to carry some heavy shit?

I'm going to try and work something of a swing shift for the next couple weeks while Jem is out of commission, to back up both you and Crystal. If there's shit you're absolutely dreading, especially those tedious scheduling and administrative tasks that I just love to dig my teeth into, you can leave those for me. Don't like throw them in a pile marked Goodleaf and move on, actually communicate what you need done, but I'm happy to help.

And finally (for now) if you need to scream into a jar I have a Yankee candle you can use. It's very cathartic.

[Delivery made while Arlo is still on his way back from the second Summit meeting. On the off chance he doesn't come back immediately, the below have been wrapped in a black plastic trash bag folded over itself & left on the hood of his truck:
a packet of letters from Duke, aged 10–20, which includes a ton of his drawings

mint condition New Orleans Saints hat Arlo bought in 2009 and was convinced is why they won the super bowl in 2010 (in that way sports fans do...)

a well-worn photo of his first hotshot crew (which includes 18yo Ares!!) and their badge, which says "Badger Hotshots" and has a badger on it bc ofc it does

Also included is a small note which reads
"Here if you need to talk yourself, big guy. ♥ -C"]

Duke comes by Prescott after the summit meeting to check out Arlo's winterized truck and to present him with his housewarming gift.

Arlo is presented with an old folded up piece of paper, scavenged from the station in Danforth: it's a hand turkey Duke had made for him when he was little. As with most childhood art it's poorly colored and the turkey's eyes are very wonky. Written above it is 'im thanful 4 arlo.'
